DEBrowser Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how DEBrowser uses cookies and similar technologies (collectively, "cookies") when you use the hosted Service.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We use them to keep you signed in across visits, remember your interface preferences, and protect against abuse. We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell your data.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
debrowser_session |
Authenticated session token issued after login. Required to keep you signed in across page reloads. | Essential | Session |
debrowser_remember |
Optional persistent-login token. Lets you stay signed in for up to 30 days without re-entering your password. | Functional | 30 days |
debrowser_consent |
Records that you accepted this Cookie Policy, so we don't ask again. | Essential | 1 year |
debrowser_theme |
Stores your light/dark theme preference. | Functional | 1 year |
3. Essential vs. functional
- Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. Disabling them will sign you out and prevent the app from working correctly.
- Functional cookies improve your experience (persistent login, theme) but are not strictly required. You may decline functional cookies at signup.
4. Managing cookies
You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.
5. Third-party cookies
DEBrowser does not set third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If you embed DEBrowser inside another service via Shiny modules, that host service may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updates means acceptance.
