1. Agreement to terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using DEBrowser (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Research software; no warranty

The Service is provided as research software. Features may be incomplete, unstable, or unavailable.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

3. Analysis and AI outputs disclaimer

The Service runs statistical analyses (DESeq2, edgeR, limma) and may include AI-assisted features for interpretation and summarization.

All outputs — differential expression calls, plots, enrichment results, and AI-generated summaries — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading and are provided for research purposes only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and verifying outputs before relying on them for any decision.

4. No professional advice

The Service does not provide clinical, diagnostic, medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Outputs must not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or treatment.

7. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party providers (Bioconductor mirrors, AI model providers, hosting infrastructure). We are not responsible for their performance, outputs, or terms.

8. Fees and payments

DEBrowser is free and open source. If you access a hosted instance that charges fees, those fees are due as stated at purchase and are non-refundable except where required by law.

9. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your data.

You grant DEBrowser a limited license to use, process, and store your data to operate and improve the Service.

We may use aggregated and anonymized usage metrics to improve the platform.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice. Upon termination, access ends immediately and data may be deleted.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DEBrowser and its maintainers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption.

Total liability will not exceed the greater of amounts paid for the Service in the prior 3 months or $100 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DEBrowser and its maintainers from claims arising from your use, your data, or your violations of these Terms.

13. Changes to service and terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; continued use means acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, United States. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in Massachusetts, United States.
